RCA members, friends, and colleagues:

As we celebrate RCA’s 25th anniversary, we want to bring the very best of RCA to you! I’ve been working with several of my long-time RCA friends to create a way for you to support RCA financially AND have a great learning experience as well. So here’s what I came up with.

We’ve put together a lineup of distinguished RCA Chefs who will each donate their time to present a live, virtual cooking workshop from their home kitchens, and attendees will pay $25 (ONLY $25!!) to spend an hour cooking along with some of the most interesting and creative culinarians on the planet! Come on – that’s got to be better than anything you would see on the Cooking Channel! And you must have already seen everything there is to see on Netflix by now anyway!

Workshops will be launched monthly, with the first one scheduled for Thursday, November 19th– the week before Thanksgiving. And our first Chef will be Steve Schimoler, former RCA President, chef-owner of 15 restaurants, inventor, and entrepreneur. He has been known as a true innovator in the kitchen and board rooms alike. Chef Steve will be doing his creative take on Thanksgiving Turkey and Cornbread Stuffing – his way. You can bet it won’t be your same old turkey and stuffing! As Steve says, these recipes “may set your standard for years to come!”

So if you appreciate what the RCA has done and will continue to do for all of us who work in the food industry, as well as for the next generation of research chefs and culinologists, ask yourself what YOU can do to help support the Association. Money is certainly welcome, but good ideas can be worth their weight in gold! But time’s a wasting – Let’s Git ‘Er Done!

Workshop One: Grilled Cider-Brined Turkey with Cornbread Stuffing and Cider Reduction

Session Description: Thanksgiving 2020? Fire up your grill! Join former RCA President, Chef Steve Schimoler as he demonstrates his go-to version of Brined and Grilled Turkey with Cornbread Stuffing and Reduced Cider Sauce. His method of preparing and cooking the turkey is a great way to change-up your bird and make cooking it a fast and fun way to get it on the table. His simple cornbread stuffing is a great complement to the dish and allows you to make it a day ahead. Make this year’s Thanksgiving one that gets you outside of the kitchen and very well may set your standard for years to come.

Attendees will earn 1 CE credit.

About the Cooking at Home with RCA Chefs Series: RCA is excited to launch “Cooking at Home with RCA Chefs” – a series of live, cook-at-home workshops hosted by renowned RCA chefs!

Cooking at Home with RCA Chefs is an exclusive RCA experience where you can cook alongside respected RCA chefs at home in a virtual setting. Each one-hour session features a different cuisine or celebrates a particular holiday, making for a fun and educational program.

You don’t need any special equipment – just set yourself up in your kitchen and follow the steps from the RCA chef to create your own culinary treats. Or, just watch and learn from the comfort of your couch! Our chefs will guide you through the recipe, offering tips and suggestions along the way. You can even use the “Chat” function on the platform to ask questions or offer comments.
